EzbuyFurniture eliminates the need to have full-time staff process their orders through the use of Order Serve Pro

Challenge

  • EzbuyFurniture.com, a leading online retailer of home and office furniture, wanted to improve upon its process of submitting orders to their vendors. Depending on the item ordered and the vendor associated with the item, a faxed or emailed purchase order needed to be sent to each vendor.
  • Once orders were received by their vendors, they had no simple method of tracking the order from inception to completion.
  • EzbuyFurniture.com's clients were not happy with the lack of information about their orders and they were spending more time fulfilling status requests as opposed to growing their business.
  • While their ecommerce platform was robust at helping them get sales, they didn't provide adequate tools to help them once the sale was made.

Solution

  • Since EzbuyFurniture.com uses the Yahoo Store ecommerce platform we were able to use their real time link to send the orders to EastBayData for processing. Enabling this feature is accomplished by entering ONE line of code in the Yahoo Store Manager!
  • Using EastBayData.com's Order Serve Pro online software, all orders are analyzed and sent to the correct vendor for processing. Each vendor has their own portal for which they can use to process new and update open orders.
  • Sending the orders to the vendor is only only part of the solution. A system was then created to monitor the exact status of each order and alert EzbuyFurniture of any change such as backorder or shipping status so they could preemptively inform their clients and act accordingly.
  • While Yahoo Stores had a system in place that allowed EzbuyFurniture to send the order status to their clients, it was not in real time nor was it automated. A simple order tracking page was created that tied directly into their live order system which inturn allowed their clients to view up to the minute information about their pending shipment.

Results

  • The company now has an automated solution that effectively eliminates the need for several full time staff sending and monitoring their orders.
  • The need to create and send a purchase order to one of their vendors has also been replaced using their vendor portals.
  • There is no longer a confusion as to the exact status of a client's order. Since the clients are happier, they are now getting 43% more repeat customers.
  • Their status request phone calls have been cut by 90% due to the fact that the information is sent to the client directly upon status updates.
  • EzbuyFurniture can now focus on what they are good at, which is providing high quality furniture to their clients as opposed to managing an order when it arrives.
